English Dub Review: The World Ends with You The Animation “Erased”

Overview

As the Reapers’ Game nears its end, Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme get a mission so easy it seems like a day off. Is this a respite before their looming battle with the Game Master, or one last trap to stop them from ever reaching it?…

Our Take

Five days have already passed and only two days remaining for the Reaper’s game. Only four of them are alive. Now, on the last day of the game, this so-called Game master is here and he seems pretty upper-tier and completely in control of whatever their situation is.

The art direction and music are once again the strongest aspects of this game-to-anime adaptation. Many songs are recycled from the game which is kind’ve a good thing for those who are into this franchise. I also actually felt a little bad for certain character deaths. Even if I never really got to know them long enough.

This was an alright episode. The pacing was a bit worse this time around, but the twist itself which was an absolute GUT PUNCH more than made up for that. As someone who never even heard of the game this anime is based on, I’m honestly enjoying the series so far with all of the plot twists and different characters this show has…
