English Dub Review: The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent “Predicament”
Overview
Sei struggles to come to terms with the conditions for casting the Saint’s conjury. The party of Knights, mercenaries, and mages sets off into the treacherous woods…
Our Take
Much like the functionality of how magical powers work in the show “Charmed” (The 90’s version of course), it’s clear Sei’s powers are tied with her emotions. And predictably, everyone just wants Sei on their side for her abilities with even Sei herself recognizing that. The day of the expedition into the woods to find more herbs, and the relationship chemistry between Hawke and Sei feels more organic and natural. Except that Leonhardt will most likely be a 3rd party in this one, and he can definitely also sense the chemistry between Hawke and Sei.
It was also nice to see that Aira managed to join the academy successfully. I guess when it’s your job you really won’t bat an eyelid at being good at it. The alchemist really is growing on me with her attitude. Still, despite the danger, Sei’s confidence really is nice to see. Their scouting mission though sure ended up provoking quite the hornet’s nest though. The grand magus’s arrival really was timely.
Overall a decent episode that primarily served to reinforce the fact that Sei’s powers are the result of the bond that she’s forged with those around her but not much else. We’re only one episode left and while I’m not normally that picky on animation, the episode itself was littered with too many still frames and less movement which kinda defeats the purpose of the word “animation”. It almost felt like a slide show and sadly it’s what keeps me from giving this one a higher rating despite some of the character progression.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
