English Dub Review: Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside: “The Princess Who Didn’t Join the Hero’s Party”
Overview: B-rank adventurer and princess of Loggervia, Rit (Dani Chambers) reunites with Red (Aaron Campbell) as he works as Zoltan’s newest apothecary.
Our Take: Without a shadow of a doubt, the Princess of Loggervia presence in Zoltan works well on two fronts in not only further elaborating on who she is but also how Red was in the heyday of his hero days. Their conversation of their brief past working together is well written, mostly due to them talking like actual human beings who are taking a warm stroll down memory lane and it being a catalyst for the necessary flashback sequences. This being opposed to other series and their robotic exchanges that are contrived in how they are nothing but spewing plot.
The backstory also serves to show how both Red and Rit have changed, or not in some cases, and how their perspectives of each other have evolved having reunited. Seeing genuine character differences, mostly with Rit in being more open and honest, indicates a real passage of time for the two lovers. And love birds they seemed to be indeed, if the subtle behavior from Rit was any indication. It’s moments like those that make them more than just two-dimensional, static love birds. Besides Rit, Red also subtly seems to be more cheery, no doubt on account of his happy new life. There still needs to be more of their past to further see more of how they have shifted from their positions, but this works as a first foray into that.
Their romantic dynamic, or one that will inevitably be so, is truly down-to-earth in how they both encourage one another but are honest as well without shying away from plain truths. Not to mention you will find yourself saying, “Awwww” quite a bit at it’s sheer sweetness with their little bits of wholesome flirting and/or teasing of each other. In regards to the Ruti’s party, there is quite a bit of tension built up against Ares and it seems to be because of Red’s newest replacement. This makes me want more time dedicated to seeing their exploits as it will undoubtedly tie back to Red and Ruti’s little slice of heaven in the countryside. But also to better understand their dynamic before and after Red’s, or Gideon’s, departure from the group and if he is as useless as he and Ares have made him out to be as this series delivers a stronger sequel entry to their debut episode.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
