“A Banquet For Hungry Ghosts” Book Being Adapted For English Language Animated Series
China’s 108 Media is producing an English language animated adaptation for the Ying Chang Compestine-written book A Banquet For Hungry Ghosts. The series is slated drop early 2022 with eight 30-minute episodes on the way written by Tricia Lee who will also be the showrunner for the animated horror anthology series.
According to Deadline who broke the story,
Set across different epochs surrounding Chinese culture across the world, the series is made up of eight self-contained hungry ghost stories, laid out as eight courses of a banquet in a live-action appetizer/dessert bookends (filmed unique to each language and market) wrapped around its animated main course.
Our Take
With the recent success of Squid Game, every network and streamer are going to be looking to cash in, so expect a lot of content to make it’s way over here from Pan-Asian region in the coming years.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
