English Dub Review: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: “Ramiris’s Warning”
Overview: Rimuru (Brittany Karbowski), Gazel (Bill Butts), Erald (Robert McCollum), the future Falmuth king, Youm (David Matranga), the three beastketeers along with all parties involved discuss their true intentions with some asking the necessary questions.
Our Take: While serving as a discussion for future plans, this is also a very candid conversation for all groups involved as Rimuru prepares to set his plans into motion. That all begins with the false story regarding the events of Falmuth’s invasion into Tempest that Rimuru, the leaders and parties involved are going to feed the nation. It’s refreshing in everyone just putting their cards on the table and asking the questions that need to be asked to finally make strong relations. Of course, Slime’s political planning continues to be a strong aspect but the sheer extensive amount of it along with the intricacy here in all the very careful planning is intriguing to see the ingenuity of Tempest, Dwargon, Eurazania and the Sorcerer’s Dynasty Sarion.
Youm’s reasoning for being the king of Falmuth is more honest and humble than the run-of-the-mill ‘because it’s my sacred duty’ kind of crap in being asked to by Rimuru and doing so for Myulan. It’s the kind of wholesomeness in his answer that Gazel was probably looking for and what makes it such an excellent scene between the king and the soon-to-be-one.
Ereld’s questioning of Fuze and Blumund along with Rimuru serves as testament to Blumond’s desperate position and standing and merely a reaffirmation for Rimuru’s ideology, respectively. The former, similarly to Ereld and Dwargo previously, shows the tactical and emotional approach to their leadership. However it also shows Fuze and his nation’s desperation when dealing with a more powerful country such as Tempest.
Lord Clayman has been built up as the big, behind-the-scenes baddie up to this point but the ending of the episode says “Haha you thought,” by teasing that someone even higher than him is manipulating him and the anxiety that begins to fester as a result. This along with Rimuru convincingly pulling one over on Clayman regarding Myulan’s demise, creates a witch’s brew that no amount of grape flavoring will make go down any easier when the time comes for him to take his medicine in the coming episodes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
