English Dub Review: I’m Standing on a Million Lives “The Island That Flows”

Overview(Possible Spoilers):

Everything goes from bad to worse. An earthquake causes a volcanic eruption which then causes a tsunami. Iu gets distracted and killed by the orc queen, who also throws her body in the ocean which makes it so she cannot respawn. To make matters even worse a dragon was slumbering in the volcano but has now been woken up. How will our heroes get out of this mess?

Our Take:

I have had my fair share of bad days but this kind of takes the cake. I mean can I have a moment to recap these events? Orcs attack, then an earthquake, then a volcanic eruption, a tsunami, followed by a dragon coming out of the volcano. I don’t think it gets much worse than that. Just one of those things would be close to the top worst day for me. I am really interested to see what our heroes can do here. I don’t want to say they’re completely screwed but this is pretty dang close.

I really like the character of Yusuke. I mean there have been a lot of characters like him before but there was just something about his reaction in this episode. The dude has a volcano erupting around him and he’s just like “Hey, can we make this castle drop in the lava? We don’t have time to build trenches to flow the lava into them”. Aoiu freaked out on him about ruining the castle of their ancestors and he just shrugs it off and starts working towards a different plan. That guy is cold-blooded down to his core.

The next episode should be a crazy ride. I have no idea how they are going to solve all these problems but I am more than intrigued to see how they do it. Yusuke has always come through but with Iu not being able to revive at the moment it does seem like a bit of a lost cause. For those of you wondering Keita is still a useless douche, not much hope left for the guy.
