English Dub Review: Back Arrow “What Will the Riots Produce?”

Overview

Chaos ensues within the capital when Princess Fine returns from war. Due to some out-of-context manipulation, the citizens of Lutoh have turned against her and are demanding the princess’ head…

Our Take

Part of me felt bad for the princess but luckily, she has protection. The revolution also makes no sense, as everyone in the fucking city wants to see the princess dead because they saw her kill people… in a war?? I know she did kill some of her own men, and that makes people mad for sure, but literally everyone in the city??

At the very least, I did like the two things. The music (the instrumental ending tune, in particular, was quite good) and the phrase said by the supreme guy “love and hate stem from the same roots” just because it felt very symbolic to the princess itself, who literally has 2 personalities. Also, a character death occurred yet I felt absolutely nothing seeing that particular character die this individual allegedly was a bad person from the beginning and didn’t get better from the looks of things.

Overall, this episode got chaotic as some of the main cast themselves within this show had trouble properly controlling their own feelings. And the proceedings reach this complicated direction where even the good guys are morally questionable people as exemplified with the princess being half a murderous lunatic, and their head doctor was performing horrific human experiments and was disturbingly casual at the idea of torturing innocents, yet the show asks us to feel bad for them? Hopefully down the line, the story & other characters in later episodes will do more to redeem themselves enough to where they deserve to have sympathy…
