Anime Streaming News: HiDive Leaves VRV ; Netflix Announces The Way of the Househusband Part 2
HiDive has announced that they are departing the VRV service starting September 30th. VRV is a Crunchyroll-owned streamer, however, Crunchyroll is now owned by Sony so it’s unclear what future the service even has anymore. Rooster Teeth is soon going to be part of WarnerMedia’s move over to Discovery, Mondo isn’t even a thing anymore, and neither is Cartoon Hangover. Most of the VRV originals have reverted back to original owners leaving just Crunchyroll as the lone service left available.
This world-class househusband was once a feared legendary member of the yakuza! “The Way of the Househusband” is a cozy gangster comedy about “The Immortal Dragon,” a former yakuza member whose incredible feats are still talked about in the underworld, and who spends his daily life as a househusband! The highly anticipated Part 2 of “The Way of the Househusband” starts streaming Thursday, October 7, only on Netflix.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
