English Dub Review: Shadows House “The Dark Drink”
Overview(Possible Spoilers):
Ryan and Dorothy visit a village outside of shadows house. They go here and give select children coffee, with grandfathers soot in it. They bring them back to the house to become living dolls. They were human all along. Meanwhile, Kate wants Emilico to return to normal and tries making her drink water to fix the problem. After throwing up a few times Emilico is back to her normal self. The joy doesn’t last long though as Emilico is abducted. Kate attempts to get the help of other shadows to track Emilico down.
Our Take:
Alright! Now we are getting some reveals. One was the worst kept secret the show has. Of course, the living dolls are human but it is interesting to find out that there are humans living separately from the shadows. How did the humans end up in this situation though? There are only a few episodes left and I hope this one gets answered.
They are so happy to get a visit from the shadows and are even pleased when their children get selected to go to the mansion. I have a feeling they don’t know what happens to them once they’re there. Rum is still alive as far as we know but is that the case for all humans that fail their debut? I have a feeling they have killed a fair number of children before.
I am really excited to see all the shadows and living dolls that passed the debut to work together. Though I think they are a bit off the mark as to the identity of Emilico’s abductor. They seem to think that Edward is responsible but I don’t think so. It’s just a hunch but I think this person wants to ultimately help Emilico. She is making a special tea for her and when I think of the opposite of coffee I think tea. Not much to go on I know but that’s just my thoughts. Either way, I am excited to see what happens next.
There are only two episodes left and I really hope this does well enough for a second season. I think we are only scratching the surface of this interesting world. This show has done a great job with its worldbuilding. I really am interested in all aspects of it, seeing the shadows seem so human was creepy. This show isn’t terrifying by any means but I think it does horror a lot better than a lot of other anime do.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
