English Dub Review: Combatants Will Be Dispatched! “How to Make an Evil Leader Cry!”
Overview:
Six and the gang are on their way to an ancient ruin. There is a weapon there that will help them fight the sand king. Snow tries to be like Six and Alice now that she is getting an allowance from Alice. They come up with a plan that rubs everyone the wrong way. The ancient weapon turns out to be a giant mech. What will happen with the demon lord’s army wanting it too?
Our Take:
You know I think I might be an evil villain too, I mean I thought that Six and Alice’s plan was good. Let your enemies wear themselves out fighting monsters and activating the traps. Then you swoop in and take the treasure for yourself. But Snow, Grimm, and Rose did not think that was acceptable behavior. It kind of felt like they were acting out of character just a little bit, especially Grimm. I mean… she serves an evil goddess, what is her issue? Snow is just all about money, so I don’t know why she was so bothered. Especially after the last few missions, just kind of felt weird to me.
The dialogue in this show is spectacular, when I say that I mean Six in particular. He sneaks up and hits Russell right in the testicles and I have never heard so many different names for that part of the body. I don’t know if Brendan Blaber gave his input on that whole situation but props to the writing department, I could not stop laughing.
Speaking of Brendan Blaber, I know I have sung his praises a lot but here are some more. This guy needs more roles and stat, I really like the energy he brings to Six. As a newcomer, I could not be more impressed with him. I also want to shout out Monica Rial as Alice. Here lately I have really enjoyed her deadpan responses to everything, it has been hilarious.
Next time is the last episode and this one ends on a pretty sizeable cliffhanger. Russell got into the mech and is attacking Six and his unit. Will they make it out alive? Conventional wisdom says yes but who knows? What I know is I am kind of sad to see this series end. Hopefully, it goes out as funny as it started. One thing I know for sure is that I am going to pay more attention to Natsume Akatsuki (the author of the light novel series). He has two hilarious works out there in this and Konosuba so I bet whatever he does next will be awesome too.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
