Butthole Biscuits Adult Animated Comedy Announced For Development
Wild Child Animation (UK) and Ferly Studios (Fin) are developing a pilot script for a new longform adult animated comedy that they hope will also turn into a franchise for merchandise called Butthole Biscuits.
The animated series is described as an unadulterated and warts-and-all look at society through the eyes of the broken and unwanted biscuits left behind at the bottom of the biscuit barrel. Rejected by tea-time society, barely fit for dunking, they can either sit around and go stale or break out and go on the hunt for kicks.
A writing team and the top comedic talent in the UK are being eyed for sometime later this year.
Our Take
Adult animation produced in Western Europe is few and far between in terms of success stories. That said, with the recent success of Spitting Image and the hungry appetites for streamers whom are under increasing pressure to produce content local to whatever countries they are attempting to do business in, Butthole Biscuits could quickly find a home on networks such as Netflix or Amazon. Add in the fact that HBO MAX’s The Prince is making all sorts of waves in local UK press for it’s depiction of the royal family (it’s work noting that show creator Gary Janetti says that Prince Harry seemed to like the show and all of the show’s stars are doing a way better job at defending a controversial series than anyone in the US does for their series), viewers could want more of the same.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
