RTX 2021 Recap: RWBY and Red Vs Blue Updates.
This was quite a lot to unpack…

The zoom call itself updates people on what to expect not only from Volume 9 but also the upcoming release date for Volume 8. The link to see the interview can be found here.
Here are the screen captures of RWBY Merchandise updates which I managed to condense in one Image.
Other Notes Taken from the Zoom Panel:
Much of the merchandise announced consists of acrylic figures of Team RWBY, Y2K-Inspired apparel, a fleece-blanket of the Map of Remnant inspired by the SNES Final Fantasy games, a First glimpse of the prototype for the Good Smile Yang and Weiss figures with one of Penny in the works, The Volume 8 Blu-ray released coming later this year on November 23rd, a Scholastic RWBY novel called “Roman Holiday” is soon to be released on September 7th, which will tell a solid origin story of how Roman Torchwick and Neo met. Also, tiki cups and fall apparel are coming this fall. The Physical issue of RWBY/Justice League Issue 4 will be out later on July 27th with a trade paperback coming later in the 1Q of 2022. Discussion of V8 production compared to various disasters that involved sticking the landing. (jokingly quoting “The Fast and the Furious”. The Q&A answered many fan questions while people talking about their favorite moments such as What was your favorite fan reaction to Volume 8 in which they responded with: The first appearance of Ambrosius with Kerry stating that it was done as “equal opportunity hotness”. The Hound making its presence known, Yang’s Confrontation with Salem. Weiss getting launched in a “fastball special” fashion, Watts’ epic verbal beatdown on Cinder calling out how much of a shit-person she is. Also, the Black River was intended to be a “mini-boss”, but the writers realize at the last minute it wasn’t feasible. While some mid-volume episodes were re-written many times, including ideas like “Ruby in inside Salem’s Grimm Whale which didn’t make the cut.
The plot details of the RWBY: Arrowfell videogame from Wayforward reportedly takes place during the events of Volume 7 with original animated cutscenes done by RT themselves and Miles Luna stating that the games are 100% canon, taking place during the time skip in Volume 7.
In response to questions about Volume 9. Aside from the suspenseful trailer of it, a lot of the crew have said Vol.9 was their favorite volume to work on. stating it was the most unique. “How are we gonna do that?… Volume.” with them saying it has the most “heartfelt, scary, and funny moments – may be the most in several volumes. A wide range… And it’s weird!” with Miles Kerry stating that “some of the most emotional, touching, scary, funny” moments in quite a few volumes” with the term “Weird” being used a lot.
The RWBY Vol.9 Preview.
New updates have risen from RVB’s Facebook page by Rooster Teeth themselves in regards to the Halo-Inspired comedy series “Red vs Blue” with the announcement of the Blu-Ray release of Red vs. Blue: ZERO will be on home video on 11/2, in the form of physical & digital editions!
And finally, new RVB merchandise has been released which can be found at RT’s Online store by clicking here.
Our Take
This is a keen observation, but does anybody else find it kinda interesting that RT keeps releasing new merchandise of Penny? I mean, wouldn’t it be kinda weird to continue releasing brand new merchandise of a character who’s supposedly gone? I’m at least glad they’re addressing what’s pissing people off about the volume when they aren’t shilling Rick and Morty merchandise ads in-between the interview every 5-10 mins. I am at least confident the RT Team will redeem themselves after the progressively stumbling SJW dumpster fire that was Volume 8. Also, the merchandise is quite surprising, especially how they’re hands-on with the cutscenes of their upcoming game with Wayforward.
While it’s not specified when Volume 9 will premiere, or what other RVB stuff we can expect in the future. We here at Bubbleblabber.com will keep everyone updated!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
