Review: The Simpsons “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki”
Longtime producer for The Simpsons David Silverman has noted that he was literally handed this assignment in May. For those that understand animation, anyone can certainly attest to how difficult it can be to get nearly seven minutes of content put together in the matter of months to somehow coincide with the penultimate episode of Loki’s first season. While the latter of which is coming across as very “talky talky” for me, “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki” finally takes Maggie out of the picture of being almost exclusive with the animated shorts and inserts the rest of the town of Springfield including the Simpson family.
While the poster may allude to an all out battle between Loki and Springfield, what we get instead is classic parody for The Simpsons featuring a bunch of jokes at the expense of Disney and Marvel Studios that just so happens to feature Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as “Loki”. When the God of Mischief is cast down from Asgard and landing in the backyard of 742 Evergreen Terrace, Loki is welcomed in by the Simpsons with open arms. For Homer, he loves Loki’s ability to turn anything into a pork chop. For the prince of Springfield, Bart gets to test his meddling with the half-brother of Thor and probably meets his match.
Most of the fun of this new short from The Simpsons is found in the sight gags. Seeing the denizens of Springfield as the Avengers is cute as the dickens, jabs at Disney buying FOX, and then the multitude of end credit sequences showcase the writers doing what they do best and Tom does a fantastic job in keeping up with the professionals. Shorts like these are the reason to keep Disney+ for The Simpsons.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
