Recap: Batman – The Long Halloween Part Two Comic-Con@Home 2021
The much anticipated adaptation of the critically acclaimed classic graphic novel concludes with the second half of Batman: The Long Halloween. Batman continues his battle against both Gotham’s crime families and the still at large Holiday Killer. Meanwhile, District Attorney Harvey Dent struggles to keep his marriage together while dealing with the ongoing mob war, eventually pushing him into his legendary criminal identity as Two-Face. The iconic story by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale already had one half of it adapted previously, with the cast returning for its remaining segment and this panel. The panel is moderated by Tiffany Smith and features Jensen Ackles as Batman, Katee Sackhoff as Poison Ivy, Julie Nathonson as Gilda Dent, Troy Baker as The Joker, and screenwriter Tim Sheriden.
Much emphasis is given to the focus on the villains in this half of the story, though it is noted that Tim Sheriden’s writing allows every villain to feel like they see themselves as heroes of their own story. Each actor touches on their evolving acting careers and how they brought that to their respective roles. Jensen Ackles, previously known only for playing Jason Todd/The Red Hood in a previous Batman movie, is praised for entering the role as Batman for this movie. Troy Baker is a veteran of playing both Batman and Joker, but Ackles tried his best to not go to other versions for his own take on the part. Baker also gushes about his time playing both parts and his own anticipation for this particular story’s adaptation before leaving the panel halfway through to take care of his kid. Also during the panel are intermittent check ins with Heidi Maetrix, a known cosplayer who gives good make up and cosplay tips, this time regarding becoming Troy Baker’s version of The Joker.
Batman: The Long Halloween releases on digital on July 27 and August 10 on Blu-ray
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
