English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Off to Endeavor’s Agency!”
Overview:
Hawks is doing shady things to fit in with the League of Villains. Deku visits his mom before going off to his work-study. Will Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki be able to keep with Endeavor?
Our Take:
A new cour means new opening and ending songs. I like them a little better so far, though I wasn’t able to get any artist info yet so I might address this more later. Another thing that a new cour means is that we are finally getting into the Endeavor Agency Arc! This one should be good and for the people calling the last arc boring, this might be just what you need.
We also got some new cast announcements with this episode. Ben Diskin plays Skeptic, one of the new villains. I really like Ben Diskin so I hope we get to see more of this character. Lisa Ortiz plays Burnin, one of the heroes that work at the Endeavor Agency. She has an awesome character design and I liked what her voice brought to the character but with both of them, I want to hear a bit more.
Whenever we have quiet moments where Deku spends time with his mother I always get a bit weepy. There are just few things more dependable in this world than a mother’s love. Her feelings on wanting to support Deku’s dream but also being worried about his safety would be hard to handle. You want your child to be happy but also safe and it’s looking like being a pro hero will be anything but safe in the near future. So I understand her hesitancy.
All Might said that Bakugo and Endeavor were very similar and he would learn a lot from the work-study. Honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t notice that sooner. Take away the family abuse and yeah Endeavor is basically Bakugo. Interestingly, when they showed up to meet Endeavor, Bakugo called him a jerk and I thought that was hypocritically hilarious.
Endeavor showed why he’s number one by noticing a crime in progress before anyone else did. Say what you will about him, he’s an awesome pro hero. I think we are going to get a lot of character development from in this arc. I can’t wait to see Deku and his friends working together. I like to think that Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki will be the next UA Big Three.
It was a fun episode but it was mostly set up. We will see a lot more in the coming weeks but we might have a break coming up. I am also worried about how long Hawks can keep up his double agent persona. Dabi seems to be catching on, but only time will tell.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
