English Dub Review: Combatants Will Be Dispatched! “The Con Artist Marriage Girl!”
Overview:
Kisaragi sent a mutant tiger man as a backup for Six. He ends all of his sentences with “meow” and it begins to catch on meow. Alice doesn’t believe in all the magic everyone talks about. Grimm offers to show her the power of her goddess Zenarith. She summons a demon but Alice bullies it until it leaves. The kingdom might be in trouble, it seems they are running low on water.
Our Take:
If you’re going to introduce an intimidating tiger man what better way to endear him to the audience than giving him a quirk? In this case, it’s saying meow at the end of most sentences, and Six uses it to try to pick up girls. It was kind of a “pay attention or you’ll miss it” moment with the tiger man. When he first showed up I had to ask where he came from so I went back. In Six’s video call with Astaroth, she mentions sending him a reinforcement. Yes… singular, as in one person for backup meow. Kisaragi has bigger issues at the moment it looks like.
There were some hilarious moments in this episode like there have been in a lot of the episodes. Six runs away from the monsters while the women stay to fight. While running he runs smack dab into a monster called a moke. They begin to bond though, that is until Snow comes in and slices it in half and then has it for dinner. The transition made it hilarious meow.
Alice is also tired of all the magic talks and wants proof. Grimm obliges her by summoning a demon. The summoning ritual itself had a few hilarious parts to the beginning. I’ve also never felt bad for a demon before but when Alice decided to bully one it was pretty sad. All the wishes Alice asked for were out of her realm of power so Alice got upset. There’s only so much even a demon can do it seems meow.
The voice actors keep putting in the work for this one. It has been one of the better dubs I have reviewed in a while. Brendan Blaber as Six continues to be phenomenal and I can’t wait to see what he does next. Meanwhile, Monica Rial shows she can handle comedy with the best of em. This has been a fun ride so far and with the kingdom running out of water soon I imagine a more serious arc is incoming meow.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
