Merch Murmurs: Funko X South Park ; New Fashion Collections For “Rick and Morty”/ “Beavis And Butt-Head”

Ever since ViacomCBS had announced a slew of Beavis and Butt-Head renewal news, the franchise has been going nuts in the merchandise department. With this has come announcements of new merch deals with high profile designers like dumbgood , Tommy Hilfiger, and even Heelys for shirts, shorts, shoes, and more. Hopefully all of this means for a premiere date for any and all of the aforementioned announcements sooner, rather than later.

Synopsis:

Beavis and Butt-head are, as one of the early preshow disclaimers read, “dumb, crude, ugly, thoughtless, sexist, self-destructive fools. But for some reason the (boys) make us laugh.” During the show — which had a five-year run beginning in 1993 and was resurrected by creator Mike Judge in 2011 — the dim-witted duo watch music videos and provide their own running commentary on the clips, with plenty of childlike chortling along the way. A 21st-century return allows the still-high-school-age pals to unleash their snarky, immature comments upon both music and viral videos, pop-culture phenomenon such as Lady Gaga and even MTV properties “Jersey Shore” and “16 and Pregnant.”

Daylight Curfew has re-teamed with Adult Swim to release new items inspired by Rick and Morty. This includes hoodies, sweatshirts, tee-shirts, and more.

Rick and Morty is currently in the midst of launching new episodes for the show’s fifth season which is going swimmingly thus far. We haven’t seen much of it yet, but the upcoming fifth season has a bunch of exciting storylines to look forward to including Rick and Jerry having a deeper relationship, Morty finding true love in the form of not Jessica, and the returns of Birdperson and Space Beth. Upcoming guest stars include Timothy Olyphant, Christina Ricci, and Alison Brie.

Rick and Morty seasons six and seven are currently in production.

Synopsis:

After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.

Kid Robot has previewed a new South Park-inspired collection slated for release sometime in August which hopefully is pointing to a new season premiere coming in the fall. Until we get confirmation of that, the collection is pretty bad ass and features the likes of PC Principal and toys inspired by South Park: Stick of Truth.
