King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Imagine “Shanghai” In New Animated Music Video
Australian rock outfit King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are slated to make a big splash here in the United States with the drop of their latest LP Butterfly 3000. The second track off of that record is this one entitled “Shanghai” which has an animated music video that is slated to be part of a slew new music videos that will be dropped alongside each track.
This one looks closer to a bunch of interstitials from old-school Liquid Television, but the video directed and animated by Amanda Bonaiuto is still very impressive.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
