English Dub Review: So I’m a Spider, So What? “You guys are kind of awful, huh?”
Overview
Spider-Lady is now fully revived and arrives in the town where the baby she once rescued, lives. It seems like she’s being targeted by something. meanwhile, Shun has exited the Great Elroe Labyrinth, has arrived in the Kingdom of Sariella, which worships the goddess…
Our Take
While the previous episode was almost dedicated to Shun who at this point has become the standard-isekai-male protagonist hero. Along with his reincarnated adventure-pals venturing into the unknown which felt forced to the point that we the audience had to wait until near the end of it just to find out what’s new with the Spider-Lady long after the Earth Dragon fight. And this week, the amount of screen time Spider-Lady got was again, interrupted by Shun & pals…
At the very least, the writing has expanded world-building which became one of the saving graces within this episode. From what I can gather, there are 3 big leaders of the races and religious factions: We got Dustin for the humans, Potimas for the elves, and then Ariel for the demons, along with how Spider-Lady factors into all of this. Shun is also in a bit of a pickle since outside of his small circle, he has no real allies to turn with both of those churches not really looking to be helpful, revealing who they are would only increase the danger.
Overall, aside from those minor gripes, this was a decent episode that excelled in expanding the show’s universe while revealing small bits & pieces of what we could possibly expect in future episodes and I hope to see what direction it takes next for the Spider-Lady, the mysterious Administrator-D, and Shun’s reincarnated Isekai crew…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
