English Dub Review: So I’m a Spider, So What? “What am I doing?”

Overview

There was once a legendary creature that dwelled within the Great Elroe Labyrinth, known only as “The Nightmare”. And there are creatures that the Nightmare created that still dwell in the labyrinth. Shun and his allies attempt to avoid the Nightmare’s Vestiges, in order to cross through the labyrinth…

Our Take

Damn, just when you thought this show couldn’t have more deadly characters, we are introduced to someone going by the name “Nightmare”.I gotta say, for the human portion of the story. They really had to watch out for themselves in that labyrinth. It’s like they are on a mission to survive with those circumstances.

While Spider-Lady wasn’t the central focus within this episode, this is partially because her story portion was integrated with the human story in a small way. Slowly but surely, the Spider-Lady(past) and Schlain(present) storylines are starting to connect in such a way that it’s letting the audience put the pieces together.

Overall this episode excelled in terms of suspense and small reveals, but the action scenes were kinda bad in places. You can tell that they were trying to save on animation effort by holding character stills for too long. But on the plus side, the unusually structured timelines are finally making sense now. But, it’s still a pretty dangerous place for them. And after seeing the post-credits scene, the next episode is gonna be interesting…
