English Dub Review: So I’m a Spider, So What? “Am I Getting Ahead Of Myself?”

Overview

After evolving into a Zana Horowa, the Spider-Lady has gained an amazing OP skill! But ruining the moment is Administrator D, who makes contact once again. Reluctantly engaging in conversation, the Spider-Lady learns a bit about reincarnation and the secrets of the world…

Our Take

We finally get more questions answered regarding why the class was reincarnated but still a lot to discover. Everything’s starting to slowly make sense now but it’s still unnecessarily complicated. Spider-Lady’s portion of the story continues to be the highlight, while the human side, in particular, has really picked itself up in terms of intrigue even if the action scenes with the humans continue to be pretty shotty at times.

In very subtle and sometimes unsubtle ways, it feels like Administrator D knows more than she’s letting on. Also, Shun and the crew are basically just trying to flee the country. And going into that labyrinth sounds pretty damn difficult to find their way out since they’re clearly doing this without a guide.

Overall this unraveling story is progressing each week. And I remain curious to find out more about what happened to the rest of the class. But I think the anime does a good job of feeding you crumbs, but still keeping you wanting more in such a way that it respects the audience’s intelligence.
