English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The New Power and All for One”
Overview:
The training match is over! Bakugo has firmly joined team One for All and even attends their secret meetings. He attempts to help Deku learn his new quirk. Todoroki reaches out to Endeavor about learning more about his fireside. Aizawa wanted to try to get Monoma to copy Eri’s quirk to help her learn to control it. He couldn’t because it must be a stockpiling quirk like Deku’s. Todoroki and Bakugo got their license and immediately helped fight a villain.
Our Take:
I really love Bakugo and Deku’s relationship. I know Bakugo has said some really messed up things (telling Deku to jump off the roof comes to mind) but it’s clear he cares about Deku in his own way. He even tries to help Deku learn how to control his new power. Bakugo thinks Deku’s life needs to be in danger and All Might hilariously tells him “Do not try to murder your classmate!” like that needed to be said.
It’s always great when we get to see Eri, she’s so adorable and I think she will be a big part of the plot in the future. I mean having a quirk that can rewind the time of a person is a pretty big deal. When Monoma came by to try and copy her quirk she called him “bad”. Monoma isn’t bad just misunderstood. Emily Nieves does the voice of Eri and she nails the cute factor. Every time she talks you just want to say “aww” and protect her from everything.
Both classes gather in the 1-A dorm to celebrate the training completion. I loved getting to see the characters interact but I would have liked it a bit more if some different characters interacted. Seeing Kirishima and Tetsutetsu interact for the umpteenth time was enjoyable but we’ve seen it.
Todoroki and Bakugo finally got their licenses and a pretty sweet moment when they stopped some villains. I know fathers day was last week but can we get a round of applause for best dad All Might? He is still adjusting to not being a hero but a full-time teacher and he is doing his best. He even manages to save someone.
I feel like this was a wind-down episode from the big training arc so we might get a bit of filler. As I have said before though, My Hero Academia does filler really well. Also big congratulations to My Hero Academia for reaching its 100th episode!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
