English Dub Review: Combatants Will Be Dispatched! “Combatants Will Be Dispatched!”
Overview:
The battle begins at the gates with Grimm, Rose, and Snow attempting to fight back. Grimm casts some curses and true to form some work and some don’t. Rose is one strong chimera, and they both fight to give Snow the chance to run and get help. Six is a big softie and decides to stay and help but he needs evil points. With nothing better to do, he drops Snow’s panties of course! The battle eventually reaches its conclusion.
Our Take:
This episode was really fun. It had a little bit of everything, action, comedy, even some romance. Though the romance kind of gets ruined but more on that in a bit. Everyone is giving their all in defense of the capital and Grimm stayed true to her word and was awake! You might know it but that’s actually a big deal. In fact, it’s why I get to talk about Brittney Karbowski this time.
Grimm has been in the show plenty but for the most part, she has either been dead or asleep, so her actually getting some voiced lines this time was awesome. I can firmly say I am happy with Brittney as Grimm, she has done a great job and I really love some of the lines she gets in this episode in particular.
Snow got quite a bit of character growth in this one as she had to come face to face with some of her bigger faults. Even admitting to Six how upset she was that she trained her whole life and her enemies didn’t even pay attention to her. Though I feel some of that character growth came crashing down in the face of some of Six’s antics which isn’t her fault. She’s trying at least and that’s what counts.
The action in this episode was frenetic and fun. Six gets access to a chainsaw sword and releases the limits on his suit so he really goes to town. I really like when the action segments get to shine and for a show that is primarily a comedy, it can do action really well. The animation is crisp and well done but you can also see where some corners were cut.
This was a fun arc and I am glad the gang is sticking together. I really like how these characters interact and deal with each other. You can definitely tell this is by the same author as Konosuba, though I might actually like Six more than Kazuma, we will see when it’s all over.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
