Review: RWBY/Justice League #10

Overview

Finding refuge in Aquaman/Arthur’s home of Atlantis, the team formulates a plan of attack against the beast from beyond the stars and bask in one last night before the battle before them…

Our Take

With the writing of Marguerite Bennet and The newest Artist of this issue Stephanie Pepper, we once again progressively dive into this crossover event that introduces RWBY renditions beloved/standard Justice League members. After been given a massive info-dump in the previous issue that the threat they’re up against is the “Starro” (A Classic Justice League villain that’s an alien race of parasitic starfish-looking creatures) They decide to have one last night to themselves of having fun before going into battle thinking that this could possibly their last.

The issue itself does have some clever moments of dialogue, but at its core, there’s mostly visual storytelling that feels like fanservice for both the DC and RWBy fans, most notably with a special page of shared character moment between Yang & Blake which the RWBY fandom hopes to become a reality in the actual series at some point…

Overall, a passable issue that further sets up the large battle ahead. If I have any major complaints, I think it’s that it felt shorter than the other issues I read, but at the very least it’s hopefully leading up to a large-scale action scene for the next issue.
