Peacock Developing First Adult Animated Series With Colony 2
Peacock is developing a new animated comedy series with brothers Seth & Josh Meyers called Colony 2 that’s all about one of the first space colony. The series is also being produced by Bento Box Entertainment and Universal Television.
The report was first announced by Deadline, and the premise follows a team of the greatest minds in science arrive on a distant planet to start mankind’s first space colony, they discover that because of advances intechnology back on earth, they’ve actually gotten there second. This forces them to confront the question, when you’ve been number one your whole life, what happens when you discover you’re actually just number two?
The FOX-owned Bento Box is just as busy as anyone with getting projects not just green-lit for FOX, but also other networks and streamers like AppleTV, Hulu, and HBO MAX. For the Meyers, this is a somewhat serendipitous occasion as the duo created and produced one of the original adult animated sitcoms for streaming services known as The Awesomes for Hulu back when Hulu wasn’t a Disney-owned streamer. Since then, Hulu has become a hot destination for original animated series, but during the time of The Awesomes, the concept was still nascent making Seth one of the original innovators in the industry.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
