English Dub Review: Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town? “Suppose You Visited an Early Dungeon but Encountered Three Final Bosses?”

Overview:

Mircona takes the Mertophan path and becomes a bug creature. Lloyd and co. are tasked with defeating a giant snake but runs into Mircona instead. The giant snake is actually a guardian of Kunlun, and Mircona is in love with Marie?!

Our Take:

If you ever wondered how far some people will go when their crush gets “stolen” from them, wonder no more! Mircona has a huge crush on Marie and thinks that Lloyd stole her away. Which I guess in a way he did but he’s so oblivious that it doesn’t really count. Marie is also oblivious and thinks that Mircona is talking about another man and starts imagining Lloyd in a Boy’s Love situation.

As usual, this show provides amazing jokes and humor. What is different this week is the action scenes. They are hard-hitting and animated really well. If you liked this show but wanted more action then this week will be good for you.

You ever have a character interaction get interrupted that you really wish would have played out? What am I talking about, this is anime of course you have! Selen and Phyllo pull Riho aside to ask if she too has feelings for Lloyd. I think it’s obvious that everyone except for Choline has feelings for Lloyd at this point. Well… and Mircona as she is apt to tell you.

This show is constantly funny and is even getting better with its action sequences. Unfortunately, I think this is one of those shows that gets ignored because of its title. That is the risk-reward with light novel titles, sometimes it lures people in and pushes others away. I think if more people gave it a shot they would find a show with a lot of heart and humor. Something that does the overpowered protagonist in a unique way.

I am really excited about next week’s episode because we are going to see Kunlun! It also looks like we have a more serious arc to finish out the season. If you were waiting for a bunch of episodes so you could binge then start now! You won’t regret it I promise.
