ThunderCats Animated Feature Film In Development With Godzilla vs Kong Director Attached
Somehow, someway, Adam Wingard made Godzilla vs Kong watchable. That movie had every chance to be terrible, from the awful live-action cast to me not caring why these two goliaths were fighting in the first place, Adam somehow pulled that shit off. Now, Adam wants to take on another franchise that has been in hell for the better part of the last few decades…Thundercats.
In a new interview with Deadline, Adam notes that he wants to make a CG-cartoon hybrid feature-length adaptation of Thundercats. The idea is said to embrace the throwback look of the original animated series, but updated for a current generation much in the same way Kevin Smith is doing for Netflix in Masters of the Universe: Revelation slated to come later this year:
“I don’t want to reinvent the way they look; I want them to look like Thundercats,” Wingard said. “I want to do a movie you’ve never seen before”.
The film would feature the likes of Lion-O, as well as the ThunderCats Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and WilyKat, and (hopefully) Snarf.
So with Smith on He-Man and Adam on Thundercats, can we please get someone to rescue She-Ra?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
