Review: Apple & Onion “Nothing Can Stop Us” ; “Good Job”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
“Nothing Can Stop Us”
Hot Dog is heading to an important audition and Apple & Onion are tasked with getting his toupee while he waits for his name to be called. Nothing can stop them, except for their lack of options for a mode of transportation. Or a submarine battle. Or a ridiculous parade. When the duo finally gets to Hot Dog, the toupee is ruined, which gets Hot Dog to reconsider his audition. Fortunately, Apple & Onion convince him to audition without the toupee, which requires hair.
“Good Job”
Falafel is depressed about the fact that nobody gives him positive reinforcement for all of the hard work he takes part in. As a result, Falafel threatens to quit so Apple & Onion do everything they can to showcase his skill set so that he can get more accolades from the other tenants. Eventually he gets them, but it takes the absence of Apple & Onion to truly get the feedback Falafel deserves.
Our Take
Falafel takes center stage in a duo of episodes that truly showcase the relationship these three have. For those that don’t know, Falafel is the Egyptian landlord that agrees to let Apple & Onion live in a shack on the rooftop of his building. As a result, a lot of Apple & Onion episodes revolve around them not having the basic necessities like A/C, a fully functioning fridge, etc. So, to see how much our titular characters really care about the often stubborn landlord is a heartwarming treat nestled sweetly among the plethora of gags and jokes this series continues to provide.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
