English Dub Review: Cells at Work: Code Black “Calves, Pulmonary Embolism, and Quick Thinking”
Overview:
The liver is basically a ghost town and the hepatocytes can’t really do their job. There is a blood clot in the calves that moves to the lungs. The red blood cells use the bronchial passage to get oxygen to the lungs. White blood cells seem to be missing.
Our Take:
It seems like every week there is something new going wrong in this body. They apparently haven’t slept in two days and have been in the same position the whole time! Not great for blood flow at all. Either they have been working non-stop or going on a huge gaming session. Either way, it’s causing problems for RBC so stop it!
Did you know that the calves are known as the body’s second heart? I didn’t, I swear this show is more informative than a lot of documentaries. It always manages to impress me just how little I know about how the human body works. The fact that this show manages to be not only educational but also entertaining is pretty remarkable.
Another week without much development from WBC, but that looks like that might change. With how this episode ended I am feeling confident the next episode might be the one to give us some. All of the white blood cells seem to be missing so I feel like the next episode will exclusively focus on her. Prepare for me to give either an excited or sad review next episode depending on if I’m right.
RBC has come a long way but at this point, it’s almost like he’s too good. He is almost flawless now, always stepping up showing no fear or anything. I am all for development but I just don’t want him to become too boring or anything. After last week his friend is starting to step up too which was nice to see. He stood up to the red blood cells that were bullying him last time. They tried to kill him and RBC but hey he still stood up to them.
I know rooting for romance in a show about our cells seems weird but come on… RBC has been showing off for WBC the last few weeks. It’s just a personal wish of mine but I want to see that go somewhere. Honestly, any emotion from WBC would be nice to see. She has done surprise and anger and that is about it. I love RBC but I want to see some other characters get some time to shine is the main thing. That is one part that the main series does a bit better, is focusing on different characters.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
