English Dub Review: Black Clover “Two Things We Need to Find”
Overview
Secre/Neo begins to recall that Lumiere designed a magic tool that could increase magic specifically to help those born with low magic, intending to end the discrimination that created the Devil Believers in the first place. Queen Loropechika contacts the Wizard King to discuss the Arcane Magic training, only to suddenly collapse…
Our Take
As enjoyable as this series has been so far, this week’s episode was sadly the worst kind of filler. Unlike the last Arc that had a meaningful message about classism and revolution, this had no value whatsoever… It was 22 minutes of fluff and did nothing significant to really advance the story or characters.
When Julius and the Black Bulls got messaged by Lolopechka and she “collapsed” I also thought it had something to do with her Megicula curse. Funny enough it was just because of something completely unrelated. And then the rest of the episode is stretched with a pointless search for her glasses with the worst payoff I’ve ever seen in an Anime that manages to make Asta look like a bigger idiot than he usually is when it comes to his obliviousness to romance.
Overall, this was one of the worst episodes of Black Clover I’ve ever seen… The last episode ended on such a serious and dramatic note to leave on, and while this was I guess intended to lighten the mood, the humor was painfully unfunny and only belittles characters who otherwise had great moments in the narrative that felt wasted here. I just hope the next episode redeems itself because this left such a bad taste in my mouth…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
