Review: Momma Named Me Sheriff “Charter”/”Good Guys”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
“Charter”
The charter is referring to an original copy of Old Town’s laws that were developed by the town’s original founder who used to get off by doing a bunch of pranks on everybody. The charter that is being used now by Old Town is one that was developed later on in the town’s development that’s a bit more sensible and leaves open the possibility of Detective Goodman to levy fines against the Sheriff who is doing the naughty. This leads to the resurrection of the town’s founder aka Abraham Old Town who sets forth the original charter which causes all sorts of anarchy downtown that nearly gets Goodman cooked alive. Fortunately, after a round of the ultimate thumb war, Goodman kills off Abraham and the town goes back to whatever hellish normal we get this season.
“Good Guys”
Good guys are a group of Old Town’s citizens that visit Bigfoot, but when Sheriff finds out that he’s not a member of this exclusive club, he attempts to infiltrate their gatherings and ruin everything for everybody. One of the gatherings is to raise money for kids with no faces. Sheriff’s contributions include that of faces that have been cut off the heads of the local forest critters which is great for Bigfoot because now those fawns need friendship.
Our Take
For those expecting another surprise start to Momma Named Me Sheriff, no, Mr. Pickles does not come back during the first couple of episodes of the show’s second season. What we do get is the carnage that is this brain child of creators Dave Stewart and Will Carsola. Fans of horror are going to love a bunch of the gruesome scenes which, by episode two, get exponentially weirder. Old school Mr. Pickles fans will appreciate the call backs that includes an increasing presence from Mrs. Pickles, and the reintroduction of Bigfoot in the second episode, but new school fans that may have never heard of the series will appreciate the bevy of headings, freaks of nature, and the increasingly odd behaviours of Sheriff and his doll Abigail. Similar to say Superjail or Brickleberry in terms of forgetting about the severity of a plot in favor of just having 22 minutes of bloody fun, Momma Named Me Sheriff doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is the perfect antidote to a society that is increasingly doing just that.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
