Review: The Casagrandes “Guilt Trip; Short Cut”
Overview
“Guilt Trip”
Ronnie Anne and her primos try to win a trip around the world for Maria after learning that traveling the world was an unfulfilled dream to her before she became a mom…
“Short Cut”
When Carlota fails at haircutting, she trains under the tutelage of CJ in expanding her hair-styling techniques despite not being a licensed barber himself.
Our Take
Much of the humor in the former episode relies heavily on the comedic mishaps and crazy & bizarre contests Ronnie and a few of her siblings willingly subject themselves to in an effort to win any trip outside the country. Of course, the sense of urgency begins to build when Ronnie’s entire family enters a dancing contest to increase their chances to win but things begin to resolve themselves by the end in a heartfelt and unexpected way.
As for the latter episode, much of the conflict comes from Carlota’s fears & insecurities of failure. Her moment of truth rears its ugly head when her boss needs her help in giving haircuts to a Bride and her bridesmaids for an upcoming wedding.
Both were passable episodes that do a decent job in showing how much the family looks out for each other and will sometimes go through extremes even when things don’t always go their way. But I think I like the former episode a bit more because who doesn’t have the desire to travel or experience another culture right?

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
