English Dub Review: Tonikawa Over The Moon For You “Friends”
Overview
Nasa suggests a takoyaki party to the Arisugawa sisters in an effort for everyone to get along and get to know each other better. Meanwhile, Chitose tracks Tsukasa down to the bathhouse. The game-loving Aya finds herself getting along with the two of them, and before long competitive sparks start flying!
Our Take
There’s nothing like a good takoyaki party for young people nowadays. Great to see all the characters we’ve come to meet along the way are now in the same room together. Funny to see Chitose meet Kaname at the bathhouse loving it so much she nearly forget the reason for even being there. Chitose again popping back up to try and get Tsukasa to come live with her. Even going as far as to bribe his ass with various gaming consoles, but love is stronger than gaming I guess.
Aya seemed quite keen to go live there if video gaming was involved. Along with Tsukasa, both can wipe some digital butt. The two of them went at each other with “Street Fighter V: Champion Edition”. Aya had the upper hand on the newest one but then Tsukasa came in to dominate on the older installment. Pretty funny to see Tsukasa, Aya, and Chitose try their hardest to get that request from Nasa.
Overall this an excellent episode that excelled with an excellent blend of comedy and cuteness, but also did well to expand upon Aya as well. Who would have thought such a small gathering/party would turn into a Street Fighter Tournament? While it isn’t the first time an Anime has done this in general, it’s easy to assume that the “Seven Arcs” animation team had to ask Capcom for permission to use actual gameplay footage and their characters and had to agree on some sort of deal.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
