Review: Lazor Wulf “We Good? ; “Where You Stay?”
Overview
The last new episodes of Lazor Wulf for the year 2020 (the show returns January 3rd on Adult Swim) revolve mostly around talk shows. For “We Good?”, Canon Wulf gets into a battle with “The Youth” which reaches it’s climax during a taping of Blazor Wulf’s series and “Where You Stay?” sees Jammin With Jammantha take Lamont Bridgewater down a peg.
Our Take
With a couple of more episodes to go, Lazor Wulf hits us with back-to-back talk shows which isn’t surprising considering “Big E” is on the show as Canon Wulf and that’s all WWE does nowadays is talk shows that devolve into ridiculous promos. In the case of Lazor Wulf, they are tools used to different degrees, but really made for comeuppance whether it’s directly or indirectly.
Fortunately, the aesthetic of the series continues to be drop dead gorgeous, especially with “We Good?” which featured a sequence that looked like a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer turned on it’s head with Easter-like pastels that really are quite unlike anything else on television at the moment. Furthermore, the direction is precise and keeps a lot of the soul that is Henry Bonsu’s web comics of yesteryear.
“Where You Stay?” had some good laughs, but really is a premise that has been done before elsewhere, South Park comes to mind. The producers really don’t do a whole lot to help accentuate the show’s strengths here, but still a serviceable entry.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
