Review: Gumball Chronicles: The Curse of Elmore
Overview
When Gumball’s school friend Leslie finds an old videotape, the creepy mystery of Elmore’s ghostly past unfolds. Featuring spooky and hilarious clips from the first six seasons of The Amazing World of Gumball.
Our Take
For a short Clip-show of sorts, the framing device built around it was quite clever as it’s also a decent homage to “The Ring” in terms of story structure. As the episode progresses, the plot twist itself even played with my expectations.
I’m also surprised that Cartoon network is even still doing anything Gumball-related at all considering it ended it’s run so abruptly. Hopefully, that could change after this special as the last episode never gave anyone a proper sense of finality.
Overall, despite how criminally short this was, I was still entertained. But I do hope to see more Gumball stuff from CN in the future
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
