Review: Apple & Onion “The Eater”
Overview
The titular duo, Apple & Onion take on a monster in a parallel universe in order to get back home.
Our Take
It’s been a while since I’ve covered this show, but this is possibly the first Halloween special we’ve ever gotten from the show itself. In terms of creativity as the titular duo is in a blatantly obvious it’s a dream, but the dystopian future setting really sets the tone with some minor scares for good measure. While the twist itself of what’s eating the food people is surprising, the methods of how it makes it terrifying are quite effective with its use of shadow and color. Sometimes emphasizing a sense of terror while managing to top itself with another twist that makes everything tie itself together.
Overall, a passable episode, and I’m surprised this show is still going. As a Halloween special it delivered on the scares while balancing itself with the show’s typical simplistic British humor complete with a Halloween remix version of the theme song at the end.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
