NYCC 2020:The Flintstones Take New York!
This event was a 6-way video chat that was moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Avengers: Endgame) and during the interview, we have director/producer Tony Cervone (SCOOB!, The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown!); actors Jeff Bergman (Our Cartoon President, Looney Tunes Cartoons), Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls, Scooby-Doo franchise) and Eric Bauza (Looney Tunes Cartoons, UniKitty!), the voices of Fred Flintstone, Betty Rubble and Bam-Bam & Dino, respectively; animation historian & author Jerry Beck as they also discuss the landmark series, which has been fully-remastered for Blu-ray release by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
Many of the people interviewed commemorated the series’ 60th anniversary as they reminisce about the impact the Flintstones has had on modern pop culture cementing a lot of “firsts” within the TV landscape such as being one of the first cartoons to be showed on Primetime TV along with one of the first to have celebrity guests which were ideas that were unheard of at the time.
Eric recalls learning from Andrea Romano the voicing techniques legendary voice actor Mel Blanc used when voicing Dino. Grey Griffin talks about how much it influenced her future career. While some briefly mention their time with Hanna Barbera back when they were both alive who never stopped loving the Flintstones even decades after the show ended it’s run.
And the rest of the cast talk about The collectible box set which includes all 166 episodes and two Flintstones feature-length animated films. The complete series will be available to own on Digital HD starting October 6, and on Blu-ray on October 13.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
