Zack Snyder will direct 2 episodes of the anime series. Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series Trese) will be showrunning as well as directing 2 episodes of the series. The series will be Executive Produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Wesley Coller from The Stone Quarry alongside Jay Olivia and Shay Hatten. Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell will reprise their roles in the anime series.
Our Take
Netflix’s direction in adult animation series usually come in this facet, the more nerd-centric type of franchises with zombies, robots, gaming franchises, and of course, anime. It’s a slow but sure distinction that helps Netflix capitalize on a huge user-base of streaming service which is people with internet-connected gaming consoles like PS4 and Xbox, making the acquisition of subscribers that much easier almost in an ‘impulse’ buy type manner. Franchises like Castlevania, Splinter Cell, and Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe (for which the showrunner says is coming along swimmingly) make for exciting brand names to help attract gaming heavy audiences.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
