Netflix Details August 2020 Adult Animation Titles
Netflix has released a teaser trailer detailing it’s upcoming August 2020 originals and adult animation is stacked this month with premieres coming from both Japan AND America. Check out the teaser below, plus a breakdown of each of the adult animated series that have been featured.
The Seven Deadly Sins: The Imperial Wrath of the Gods
Premieres: August 6th
Is an anime television series sequel to Revival of The Commandments. The new series was animated by Studio Deen with Susumu Nishizawa and Rintarō Ikeda as director and series composer respectively, with Hiroyuki Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, and Takafumi Wada returned to reprise their roles as the music composers.
Synopsis:
When a kingdom is taken over by tyrants, the deposed princess begins a quest to find a disbanded group of evil knights to help take back their realm.
Great Pretender
Premieres: August 20th
Is a Japanese anime crime comedy television series produced by Wit Studio, directed by Hiro Kaburagi and written by Ryota Kosawa.
Synopsis:
Supposedly, Japan’s greatest swindler, Makato Edamura gets more than he bargained for when he tries to con Laurent Thierry, a real world-class crook.
Hoops
Hoops is an upcoming American animated sitcom created by Ben Hoffman.
Premieres: August 21st
Synopsis:
A foul-mouthed high school basketball coach is sure he’ll hit the big leagues if he can only turn his terrible team around. Good luck with that.
Aggretsuko: S3-
Premieres: August 27th
Aggretsuko is being directed and written by Rarecho and is produced by Fanworks. Aggretsuko, from global lifestyle brand Sanrio, has become a worldwide hit since her debut on Netflix as an original short animation series in 2018. Frustrated with her thankless office job, the 25-year-old red panda copes with her daily struggles by belting out heavy metal karaoke after work.
Synopsis:
Tired of her wholesome good-girl persona at work, Retsuko is drawn to the free-spirited lifestyle of her former high-school classmate, Puko.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
