Rumors: ‘BATMAN: SOUL OF THE DRAGON” ; “Dinosaurs”

 

 

They can’t spell The Flintstones, but We Got This Covered is reporting that Dinosaurs will be hitting Disney+ later this year with all 65 episodes in tow.

For those that don’t know, Dinosaurs was an early nineties show that was probably the strongest opponent to The Simpsons in terms of being a quality primetime animated series. The Henson Company-puppeted series was both nominated for and eventually won an Emmy to go along with several Environmental awards for being one of the few shows in primetime to focus on the human condition having a negative impact on planet Earth.

The series revolved around a family of dinosaurs that dealt with your typical middle-aged family issues along with other very taboo subjects for the time like sexual harassment, LGBT rights, the ridiculousness of censorship, and steroid abuse.

I’m not crazy about the source,but The GWW is reporting that Batman: Soul of the Dragon will be a part of the 2021 (Spring) animated slate for DC Animated. The premise of the movie will see Batman team up with Richard Dragon: Kung-Fu Fighter, Bronze Tiger, and Lady Shiva. Here’s the reported plot:

The Martial Arts Master that trained not only Batman but this set of rouges has been missing for a number of years and under mysterious circumstances. When a cursed relic resurfaces the mystery of their dead master re-opens and Batman and his former classmates face-off in the ultimate test of their Martial Arts skills to gain control of this dangerous relic. 

This sounds like it would be amazing…if true. This site has a habit of being one of those that retweet every rumor and  “fan theory” that comes across, but the synopsis appears to be somewhat legit. We’ll see if it comes to fruition.

The next film DC Animated film, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, is slated to release later this summer.
