UK: iTV Teases “Coronation Street” Fans With Animated Series — Now They Actually Want It!
Even though the show has been around for over 10,000 episodes, I find it hilarious we’re discussing Coronation Street during the coronavirus pandemic. That said, the long running British soap opera knows how to have a bit of fun with it’s fans, even in these trying times.
For April Fool’s Day, iTV has posted a teaser for a new Coronation Street animated series, which admittedly wasn’t true, but now the popular British soap has a slew of people on the show’s Facebook page demanding a REAL show. Happy holidays, everyone!
Synopsis:
`Coronation Street’ is Britain’s longest-running soap, on the air since 1960, and has become a beloved British television institution. The residents of Coronation Street are ordinary, working-class people, and the show follows them through regular social and family interactions at home, in the workplace, and in their local pub: The Rovers Return Inn. Over the years, the programme has covered a vast range of social and personal issues including addiction, mental health, poverty, sexuality and crime, and has played a unique role in bringing these themes into the public consciousness.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
