SBS Australia To Fund Second Season Of “Meta Runner”

WarnerMedia has been keeping it’s eye on Aussie productions for a while now. Earlier this year, Adult Swim has ordered one Australian-produced series with potentially another on the way, but Crunchyroll was helping produce Meta Runner by buying ad spots on the Youtube animated series for quite some time now which may lend one to believe that another order could be coming up on the horizon.

Until then, SBS Australia has announced that they will be helping fund the second season of Meta Runner , which is currently in production. The series is set in a cyberpunk future where video games are everything and technologically-enhanced e-sports competitors known as Meta Runners reign supreme. Season 2 picks up six months on, and follows meta runner Tari as she fights to bring down the sinister company TAS-Corp once and for all. This project is directed by Luke Lerdwichagul, produced by Kevin Lerdwichagul and written by Jeffrey Yang. The series is produced by Glitch Productions.
