The Simpsons’ “Playdate with Destiny” Will Have A Sequel Episode Airing April 2020

A brand-new short inspired by The Simpsons will premiere in front of Pixar’s Onward which is slated to hit theaters nationwide starting March 6th, but it looks like that won’t be the only time in which Maggie will be going on adventures with her new friend “Hudson”. Al Jean tells EW that on April 19th, another episode of The Simpsons will premiere on FOX that will feature Hudson and Maggie. At this time, it’s unknown whether or not the episode will continue on with the silent film-take that this short will do, but we’ll see.

The upcoming episode is entitled “The Incredible Lightness of Being a Baby” and will again be written by Tom Gammill and Max Pross, the original writers for the Playdate With Destiny. David Silverman is directing and producer Al Jean says that future opportunities for The Simpsons to open in front of Disney films are very much in the cards.
