The Best Benefit Concerts/Charity Songs in the History of Animation

Sending Our Love Down the Well (The Simpsons)

The best charity song of all-time, however, is from the classic The Simpsons episode, “Radio Bart.” When poor Timmy O’Toole accidentally falls down a well, the entire town of Springfield comes together like never before—especially the celebrities. Krusty in particular sees an opportunity to profit help. And while they can’t get the boy out, they do the next best thing, which is go on TV, and sing, sing, sing.

The celebrities included in this impromptu single that rockets to #1 on the charts are:

Krusty the Clown

Sting (from the famous pop trio, The Police)

Rainier Wolfcastle

Troy McClure

Mayor “Diamond” Joe Quimby

Daredevil, Lance Murdock

Dr. Marvin Monroe

Exotic Dancer, Princess Kashmir

Sideshow Mel

Channel 6’s, Scott Christian

Stephanie, the Channel 6 Weather Lady

Bleeding Gums Murphy

The Capital City Goofball

When the town learns that Timmy O’Toole was just a prank orchestrated by Bart Simpson, who winds up falling down the well instead, the community loses interest in the well drama. As a result, “I Do Believe We’re Naked” by Funky-See, Funky Do takes over the #1 spot on the charts, replacing “We’re Sending Our Love Down the Well,” which falls all the way down to #97.
