The Best Benefit Concerts/Charity Songs in the History of Animation
Bend-Aid (Futurama)
In “Bendin’ in the Wind,” Bender, our favorite foul-mouthed robot gets in an accident and cannot be repaired. The doctor (mechanic?) tells him he’ll never move again. Luckily, Beck’s head is in the hospital bed next to his—getting fit for a mannequin body. He invites Bender on tour as his band’s washboard player. After getting a quick mod, Bender is able to scrape a pair of robot hands across his torso to make Beck-style music.
Their tour culminates at a benefit concert in San Francisco called Bend-Aid. Beck and company set up this show in Bender’s honor, to raise money for all the broken robots in the world. Unfortunately, Bender no longer cares about broken robots because he’s been miraculously fixed.
However, he fakes it anyway and joins Beck on stage for a three-hour version of “Sexx Laws” which was apparently Beck Hansen’s favorite song ever, loaning it to Futurama, Daria, and the final scene ever of Strangers with Candy. Anyway, long story short, Bender steals the proceeds, Beck steals them back, and everybody learns a lesson about respecting the handicapped. Except for Bender, he never learns anything.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
