“Harley Quinn” Will Reportedly Have A Flashback Episode In The Upcoming Season
Harley Quinn Season Two will premiere April 3rd for the DC Universe app, and while producers Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern have an idea of where the show’s third season will go, when and where it will premiere is still up in the air as WarnerMedia makes decisions on it’s litany of apps that also include VRV, Rooster Teeth, Crunchyroll, and the incoming HBO MAX.
In the meantime, Season Two is coming in hot with ten episodes on the way, one of which (episode six written by Jamieson Borak) will be a flashback episode that will act as sort of a retcon of Harley Quinn’s backstory. Here’s what Schumacker said to shit-rag Comicbook.com:
“We also get to do a really cool flashback episode that’s a bit of an homage to Batman: The Animated Series, while also retelling and reframing Harley’s origin story with both the Joker and her original acquaintance with Ivy. And we turn that on its ear a little bit. There’s a big revelation that a lot of the feelings that Harley had for the Joker maybe shouldn’t have been. That maybe a lot of those were based on lies and I’ll leave it at that,”
Our Take
Fucking around with origin stories can mess with die-hard fans of Harley Quinn. The show had a very strong first season, so here’s hoping the producers are doing the right things to help solidify that third season pickup.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
