Review: Magical Girl Friendship Squad: Origins “HeroCon”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Alex and Daisy are invited to HeroCon and despite Red Panda’s warnings that the event is a trap, the girls are super excited and opt to go as special guests. Once there, the experience is nothing like they’d hope, middle-aged white guys from NJ. However, they end up meeting one young fan that sort of causes the men to turn into a huge zit monster that the girls have to do battle with.
Our Take
As a middle-aged white guy from NJ, I am honored and humbled to have been parodied yet again. This week’s episode felt a bit shorter than usual, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The producers are really starting to impress me with their monster designs, an asset that has done well for series like Rick and Morty. I’m also curious to see this big, bad, villain that the Red Panda keeps teasing and will be excited to see if this comes to fruition over the last couple of episodes of the origins series.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
