The Video Games Most In Need Of Getting An Animated Series Adaptation

Mutant League

Mutant League may have been considered to be a flawed joke upon its release back in the 16-bit era. Even though the series has seen recent “reboots,” it’s hardly a top tier game and something that people would be excited to see turned into an animated series. Mutant League is basically just a crude, gross take on the sports genre. It’s not heavy in story or challenging gameplay, but this cocktail of bizarre elements kind of makes it the perfect vehicle for the uber creative Christy Karacas to take a stab at. Karacas got on most people’s radars with the fever dream of an animated series, Superjail!, but it’s his most recent offering, Ballmastrz 9009 that illustrates just what wonders he could bring to a Mutant League series. Karacas makes sure that frames are never still, that action is constant, and that there is a limitless supply of gore and limbs to fly around. He has the perfect vibe and aesthetic to bring Mutant League’s monsters to life…and then kill them and bring them back to life again and again and again.

Make no mistake, Mutant League would be pulpy and gratuitous, but in the very best and most extreme ways. Granted, there was a Mutant League cartoon in the ‘90s, but it was extremely toned done and simplistic in relation to what we’d get today.
