The Video Games Most In Need Of Getting An Animated Series Adaptation

Star Fox

Star Fox can easily get dismissed due to its “silly” presentation of anthropomorphic animals in space. Behind that gentle exterior, Star Fox contains grueling action sequences, a revenge story that spans generations, a strange sense of humor, and even rudimentary political turmoil. In some ways it’s a very, very simplified version of Star Wars, but with animals, but that also means that it has a rich enough backstory to fuel a series. It’d be easy to turn a Star Fox series into endless dogfights in space, but adopting a structure that’s more similar to a Gundam series where the show alternates between time spent grounded on a planet and off in space would likely be a better approach here. In the right hands this could be a show that not only features stunning galactic showdowns, but also gives these broad characters depth, much like what Castlevania has done with its cast.

Hey, if Earthworm Jim could get an animated series back in the ‘90s then it’s long overdue for Star Fox to get its shot at a series. The games and characters have only gotten more popular over the years and action series set in space are at an all-time high.
