AppleTV+ Releases Key Art, Synopsis, & Release Window For “Central Park”

Today at TCA2020, AppleTV+ has announced an early Summer 2020 premiere for Central Park though visitors to SXSW 2020 will get to see a couple of episodes months before it premieres. Cover art(above), synopsis (below), and the aforementioned premiere information were all released to coincide with the announcement.

“Central Park” is an animated musical comedy about the Tillermans, a family that lives in, and are the caretakers of, Central Park. Owen, the park manager, and Paige, his journalist wife, raise their kids Molly and Cole in the world’s most famous park, while fending off a hotel heiress Bitsy Brandenham and her long suffering assistant Helen, who would love nothing more than to turn the park into condos.

Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Tituss Burgess, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Daveed Diggs, and Kathryn Hahn has been cast as series regulars. Bob’s Burgers EP Loren Bouchard, Josh Gad, Bento Box Entertainment, and Nora Smith are producers.

During the panel, Josh has promised that a good amount of research has gone into the show that should appease Broadway aficionados. Of course, this all coming from a guy whose big break came from the Broadway smash-hit Book of Mormon.
